Hello Friends,

There is a definite reason that ADVENTURE above is in all caps.  No, my daughter did not decide she was "working" (she is nearing 2 and likes to be on the computer working if mommy even gets near it).  The reason is, this race is truly an ADVENTURE!  This is not your typical race.  It is so much more and I know you all would enjoy it.  Here's the details...

A two person team adventure race where you solve clues, do silly stunts
and complete puzzles.  Each two person team will be given a list of clues that will direct them to different parts of the Auburn. At each spot you will solve a puzzle, complete a silly stunt or  take a picture. You will need a SMART PHONE (internet access and a camera). There are some local businesses with WiFi. You will travel approximately 4 miles ON FOOT ONLY!

Medals will be given to the first place male, female, coed, youth (under 18) and youth/adult teams(one person under 18, one person over 18)

Hello Friends!  Hope you all had a great Labor Day Weekend.  Can you believe that September is here?  I've been working hard on the September calendar and will publish it by Wednesday, so you won't miss out on the fun events that are taking place this coming weekend.  I did want to share one event that I know you won't want to miss -Mr. G's Hot Rod Round Up and Lincoln's 6th Annual Rib Fest taking place this coming Saturday.  It's gonna be fun! 

Happy Monday Friends.  I hope that you all had a wonderful and relaxing weekend.  Today I wanted to share one of my most favorite local non-profits, "Ride to Walk." Last weekend I participated in my first "Ally's Wild Stampede," an annual 5k run in memory of Ally Ellis.  This year the run was a mud run, which was amazing.  I'm already looking forward to next year and working on spreading the word.   I hope that you'll check them out on facebook (click on their name below) and watch their amazing video.

Ride To Walk's mission is to enhance the lives of children and young adults with neurological disabilities by providing innovative therapeutic horseback riding activities that are recreational in nature and adapted to the individuals needs and abilities. Ride To Walk strives to provide a positive support system for individuals with disabilities, their parents/caregivers, and our community.

Celebrate America is one of the largest family-friendly events in the Sacramento area.  This year we are excited to have as our special guest, American Idol Finalist, Danny Gokey.The production includes a patriotic musical with over 150 cast members, a Black Hawk Helicopter presentation, Navy Seals Parachuting onto the venue, and concludes with a spectacular aerial fireworks display.  Also offered is a Kids Zone with fun inflatables, and delicious food vendors, featuring The Squeeze Inn!  Admission and parking is free!  So come on out and bring your family and friends!  You don't want to miss this event!

Families are invited to spend the night at Humpty Dumpty's house this Saturday. This exciting overnight adventure includes a theater performance by Puppet Art Theater Company, arts and crafts activities, a scavenger hunt, bedtime stories and a sing-along. Families will camp in tents on the Mother Goose Lawn and wake up the next morning under the park's canopy of trees to a light continental breakfast.

"Fairytale Town's Family Campouts are a unique opportunity for the whole family, and it's a great introduction to camping and sleepovers for little ones," said Kathy Fleming, executive director at Fairytale Town.

Prices range from $20 to $30 per person and include all activities. Member discounts are available.
