10th Annual Fairways to Fairytales Golf Tournament

Enjoy a day swinging clubs on the green and competing for the Humpty Dumpty Trophy in this 18-hole tournament at the Empire Ranch Golf Club in Folsom. A buffet dinner, raffle, live auction and awards presentation follows the tournament. Proceeds support programs and improvements at Fairytale Town. Foursomes are $750. Single players are $200 each. Spend some time outdoors volunteering at Placer Nature Center! This is a fantastic opportunity for families, and anyone who wants to contribute to their community while soaking in some sun. Activities may include trail maintenance, working in the garden, and helping around the Center with various projects. Children of all ages are welcome, please email if you are bringing children younger than 8. Please wear closed toed shoes, long pants, sunscreen, a hat. Please bring a reusable water bottle. Feel free to bring a lunch to picnic in the courtyard afterwards! The nature center has no trash service, so please plan on taking everything what you bring with you. FREE of course!

The Grimm brothers' classic fairytales come to life during three nights of trick-or-treating and family fun! This event also features thematic decor, fun hands-on activities, a costume parade and more. Puppet Art Theater Company will perform in the Children's Theater at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. (additional cost). Tickets go on sale September 1. Advance tickets are $7 members and $10 nonmembers. Beginning October 26, tickets are $9 members and $12 nonmembers. September is Grandparents Month at Fairytale Town
During Grandparents Month at Fairytale Town, grandparents and school-age grandchildren who visit Fairytale Town together after school will enjoy free admission. Activities, ranging from chalk art and dance jams to scavenger hunts and obstacle courses, will also be available. Free admission and activities are available after 2 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, Sep. 4 - 28. Grandparents receive free admission when accompanied with a child ages 0-12 on Sunday, Sep 9th.

Join us for an interactive and educational event developed to raise awareness about Red Panda conservation. Kids can become Red Panda Rangers after stopping at various Red Panda Stations and completing the activities. There will also be keeper chats throughout the day, at the Red Panda exhibit. Any and all donations to the Red Panda stations will be given to the Red Panda stations will be given to the Red Panda Network.

International Music & Dance Celebration
Fairytale Town
Celebrate Sacramento's rich cultural diversity with a day of international dance and music performances at Fairytale Town International Celebration features nonstop performances by regional groups showcasing dances from around the world on the park's outdoor Mother Goose Stage.
Children of all ages will also enjoy a variety of international art activities, which can be taken home as mementos. International Celebration is free with paid park admission. Weekend admission is $5 for adults and children ages 2 and older and free for children ages 1 and under. Activities take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Fairytale Town is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, weather permitting.

Twelfth Night, written by none other than Wild Bill (Shakespeare, that is), tells the balled up story of two twins, Sebastian and his sister Viola, who are separated in a shipwreck. Viola is saved but, thinking her brother has gone up the flume, disguises herself as a young buck, Cesario, in order to get a job with Duke Orsino. The Duke is a hopeless romantic in love with Lady Olivia, but she gives him the mitten. Meanwhile Viola, disguised as Cesario, is smitten with the Duke! Confused yet? Well, just you wait until Lady Olivia falls for "Cesario" and let the shenanigans begin!
